Not everyone should file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. It really depends upon the total financial situation for the individual case. My rule of thumb is that if a person can get out of debt within 6 months without having to file, then perhaps go that route. If not, the fresh start provided under Chapter 7 would be a great option to start fresh.
